Lu Xu quickly made his way outside to the royal stables.
Princess Taiping had just finished tidying up her room and was now sitting down to enjoy her last cup of tea. She was staring outside, spacing off.

Yihua knocked on the door quickly before entering "Taiping, thank goodness you haven't left yet" she said before catching her breath after her speed walk to the room "you mustn't go, miss.." She started

She looked down and sighed, considering her words carefully. "Yihua, darling, I already regret my decision, but it is too late to turn back now." She stood and went over to Yihua, looking at her with soft, sad eyes. "I'm sorry. You have no idea how much you mean to me, or how painful it is to pry myself away from you." She gently pulled her into a loving embrace, running her fingers through her hair. "Be brave and be smart. Take care of your health in my absence, make sure to eat whenever you are hungry and be sure to get plenty of sleep. If you don't, your skin will lose it's softness and your hair will grey." She went quiet for a moment before whisorring, "Please be a good friend to My Xu. He is hurting and having a tough time, just as we all are." She pulled away and smiled at Yihua, tears streaming down her face. "I never had children, but I knew the day you were assigned to me that you would play the role of my daughter and I of your mother. I was right."

"I would rather you always think of me as a kind and caring person." She looked down, wiping her tears away. "In truth, I am leaving so that, if something happens to me, you won't have to see it. I wouldn't want to put you through that."

"I must go now, I have a horse waiting for me." She hugged her one last time and sighed. "I'll be back. Until then, you stay out of trouble and make sure Lu Xu does as well." She went over to the door and turned back to look at her court lady as she slid it open. "Goodbye, Yihua." She then walked through the door and closed it behind her, disappearing from the palace.

She looked startled by his statement and was going to argue before stopping herself 'you must always know your place' the woman who had taken her in for training had always told her before her whippings. Her voice rang clear in her ears now as she answered "of course, sir," bowing her head slightly as she did

"You'll serve me and my sister when she comes to visit the palace. You don't have to move rooms or anything and I won't bother you too often. I would just rather take you as mine before the emperor notices the princess's absence and assigns you to someone else."

"Yes, sir," she said with her usual quiet voice and slight nod of her head, "then... Would you like me to prepare you some tea, sir?" She asked, not sure what else to do with her useless self in the situation
(I'm trying to be obnoxiously repetitive like she's been trained to act very specifically, hopefully I'm coming across right and not just annoying)

"Of course, sir, I will tell the chef(?) to prepare her meal," she said before bowing and leaving to do it, ordering Lady Lu her meal, then setting to prepare tea for two people

Lu Xu remained in the princess's room, going back to staring at the wall aimlessly.
Lady Lu was staying in one of the many guest rooms towards the end of the Eastern hallway. She was sitting in her bed, still wearing her white night time robes.
