Taiping watched her before smiling softly. She turned and faced her court lady, shaking her head and placing her hand on her shoulder. "If I were to tell you, you'd never look at me in the same way ever again."

"Hmm..." She thought for a moment, picking her teacup up once Yihua was finished pouring the tea. She cupped it in her hands and held it near her chin for a while, smelling the aroma of the tea. After a few more seconds, she set it down and looked up at her court lady. "...I am leaving the palace."

She nods. "Yes." She shakily drank another cup of tea, swallowing quietly. "Part of me wishes to take you with me, but I know that would mean disaster for you."

"Tomorrow morning. You and I will have one final breakfast together before I depart." She stood and placed her cup on the tea tray. "Yihua, promise me that if I ever do return, you will be there to greet me with your warm and smile face."

As soon as Yihua had left, Princess Taiping closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep shortly after.

As Yihua scrubbed the kitchen counter for the night she tried to ignore the idea of Taiping leaving, she had been the biggest light in her depressing stay at the palace. She worked into the late hours, hoping it would distract her, scared of going to bed and being alone with her thoughts. It was 11:15 pm when she finally wandered off towards her room with heavy eyes to go sleep.

Early the next morning, there was a loud, quick knock on her door before Lu Xu bursters through the door. He looked to Yihua, quickly hurrying over to her bedside. "It isn't true, is it? The princess isn't really leaving?"
