"And wher-" his words were cut off by a very large man with yellow eyes coming into the room and locking the door behind him. The man grinned at her before grabbing a pare of pliers from the bench, speaking to the guard in Italian.
"This is your new best friend," the guard said "I would try to hurry with your answers, he is our favorite because he acts quickly. Now, where did you last see the girl in question?"

The guard shook his head and muttered something she couldn't understand when suddenly the feeling of her skull being shaken by a hard hit sent her tumbling off of the chair. The interrogator picked her up again and sat her back down "Lets try again before we start with some of the tools..."

Mari looked up at the man with pure defiance and spit in his face.

He then grabbed her hand in a grip hard enough to break bones and held up the pliers, clamping them on one of her fingernails "I suggest you speak quickly now." the guard prompted, waiting a moment. Then he motioned for the man to go through with the action.
Then a sudden movement happened as the guard slumped over, before the interrogator was shoved onto the ground, quickly having a knife slid through his jugular. This was when Annabelle was discovered to be the culprit, and her tiny body overpowering the man's large frame was quite a site to see.

Maris hand was shattered inside, but for now, she ignored it. "Annabelle, thank you " Mari said with such gratitude in her voice, she could almost cry.

Annabelle thought worriedly about how Luca would react, but set it aside as she tried thinking of how to sneak the girl out, the only way out was through the main palace room, but when they opened the door they were greeted by a standoff, a very angry Luca being held back by Raven while the queen grinned at them
"Where is she?!" Luca hissed

Mari ran and wrapped her arms around Luca. "I'm here, calm down, I'm OK." She said softly to him, forgetting to cover her hand from him.

It was Raven who hissed this time "Do you miss father so much that you wish to be with him?" she snarled.
Larissa chuckled "I would suggest you learn all of the enemy's tricks before making such threats, you certainly didn't get your smarts from HIM, Ravina..." She turned her attention to Mari again, "I meant to have this human die before either of you arrived," this signaled another growl to come from Luca's chest, "but it is no matter, I will have the Paradiso boy anyways."
It was Annabelle that stepped up this time "What do you mean, Laurissa?"
"Well, everyone knows of the predicament I am in... I am growing old and lack any heir aside from my stubborn Ravina that wouldn't marry the one chosen for her, the one who would make her happiest." She said with a scowl before waving a hand to signal 4 guards to enter the door beside her, two came in first empty handed, followed by two more that were dragging someone behind

Mari clutches Lucas arm tight with her free hand, keeping the broken one tucked away. The man looked familiar but she had to be sure before she said anything.

Raven scowled as she watched the process, the guards waited for another signal before the first two stepped to the side to reveal a scrawny man who was clothed in filthy rags that were dyed by splotches of dark red and brown. He was being dragged by his arms while his knees drug along the perfectly clean tile floors, and his head hung low as though he couldn't lift his head by his own strength, his long dirty blonde curls hiding any clues from his face as to who he was.
Finally, one of the guards grabbed a fist full of hair and yanked the man's head up roughly to reveal a broken and bloody, very tan face with a bright yellow eye visible from his non-swollen eye. All three of the vampires took on different forms of shock, Luca gasped loudly, Annabelles words were "Oh my god," and Raven...
Raven was completely still...
But then there were small movements, her jaw clenched, then her hands, and then there was a growl that started quietly, sounding like it resonated from deep inside of her, getting louder... and louder... before
"I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!" The shriek was terrifying, and the farthest from human one could ever imagine, as she crouched to leap

He nodded slowly, holding her in tighter as Raven shook like a pressure cooker getting ready to explode, then
"Principessa della notte..." The man strained to speak, hardly coming out louder than a whisper, "arresto..."
Laurissa smiled as Raven froze again at his words, "At least watch this before you do kill me, Ravina," she said as a dagger was pulled from her hip. She slowly twisted her arm so that her inner wrist faces upward and drew and straight line down in, dark red beginning to run down the porcelain skin and drip onto the white tiles, in the same instant, similar drops of blood formed beneath Falco, one of the guards turned up his arm to show the same cut on his wrist as well

Mari watched in horrified amazement. How could she tether a life with her own? Raven looked like a wild tiger pacing around in its cage, waiting for the moment to attack but coming to the realization that the cage wasn't ever opening for her again.

The queen have another evil laugh "now go ahead and kill me if you would like, it would make your reunion a very short one"
Raven stayed in her crouched position, while Laurissa continued.
"You will take on a royal husband, Ravina, or he will die. I will give you 3 weeks to make your decision," she finished before the guards threw the man down and left, the queen following behind them, her black hair brushing the floor with every step
