Another male voice from some far off cell spoke in Italian, this one much scratchier like he hadnt had a drink of water in a century, but his tone sounded like he was joking, especially with the laugher from the guard that followed, then the voice spoke in very rough english to the keeper “Señor Luca was never a brave one...”

He gave another laugh that became a wheeze “perhas he does not think... or his girl would not be here...” he grunted and there was a quiet dragging sound two cells down, as though he was dragging himself up “He wouldnt even fight over the one he loved before... no, he didnt fight over anything...”

The mans tone always seemed to reflect a smile even when she couldnt see it “does it both you so? The idea that he may love more than you? The only reason they are not happily married is because another was bolder than him... he is unfortunately too shy to entertain the idea further...”

Mari clenched her teeth in silence. It couldn't be true. He respects Raven and all but he isn't in love with her... he couldn't be... or could he?... was Mari just a ploy?... after all, one day she would be old and wrinkly and he would still be young, and Raven would still be beautiful. Could she really be just a way to get him closer to Raven in years to come?...
No, she wasn't going to let the man get to her. He had to love her, or else why would he saved her when she tried so long ago to end her life herself.

The keeper suddenly got up and the mans cage door was opened before there was a sound of flesh hitting metal, as if he had been thrown against the cage bars. Then as if nothing happened the keeper went back to his spot "I suggest you get some rest now, the first day of interrogation is always the hardest."

Mari was awoken from the concrete with the creaking of the metal door as a guard grabbed her roughly by the arm and yanked her up "It is time for you to answer some questions."

She could see then the tiniest part of his face, it was quite tan and extremely thin, but his cracked lips formed a bigger grin than one would think possible
"Ah, shut up," the guard demanded, cursing at him before hauling her off

They brought her to another area that was still in the dungeon, except it make the looks of the prison room look like a fun time. The walls were painted a brownish red and the metallic smell was stronger than ever. In the middle of the room was a single chair, while benches on the far side held items one wouldn't want to look too closely at. The guard threw her into the chair, "The interrogator will be here in a minute. Perhaps we can start with some questions."
