Alex groggily trudged down the stairs to investigate the sound.
Mari woke up early that morning, wrapped in Lucas arms. She felt anxious for the day to come.

Raven was working around his kitchen in a tank top and borrowed boxer shorts, her hair a thick black blanket covering her smooth pale legs. She looked up and grinned when he came through the kitchen "hungry?" Then she laughed "of course you are, breakfast is almost ready."
Luca squeezed her tightly, nestling his face into her neck "good morning"

She went back to flipping pancakes in one pan while stirring a mix of eggs and sausages in another "at least to your stomach"
Luca moaned before rolling over and sitting up in the bed "I still am not quite sure what to do with Raven..." He sighed "I should tell her the truth, she would want it even with the pain of it..."

She laughed again and almost tossed a huge plate in front of him or the counter "dig in then!"
Luca nodded and stood, quickly throwing on his jeans "we should probably hurry then..." He said, looking more nervous than he ever had been before

He quickly drove over in the time it took Raven to get the kitchen back in order, she grinned at them perhaps too widely as they came in

Luca frowned at him before turning back to Raven nervously "I need to speak with you, Raven..."
She nodded quietly in response "we can go in the other room," she replied before heading out. Luca squeezed her hand gently and left, but not before giving Alex a warning scowl

Only a few seconds had passed when noises sounded from the front of the house, too obvious to be the tracks of two vampires

Alex heard footsteps in the front yard and reached under the couch pulling out a rifle and cocking it as he quickly moved to the window. "Mari, I need you to go down in the basement and wait OK, I can't have your boyfriend ripping my head off because I didn't protect you." He explained kindly and calmly as not to freak her out too much.
"O-ok.." she said slightly confused but she obeyed this time.
"Raven, Luca, I need you guys front and center for a minute." He called out through the house in a nonchalant voice

By the time he finished his sentence they were both already by the door, Luca helped Mari down the stairs, telling her to lock the door and stay quiet before shutting it tightly and turning "who are they out there?" He asked Alex, eyes black as he listened to Mari's footsteps tentatively
Mari would find an empty cage by the time she got down to the basement floor, the room lit up eerily to reveal a Lana's short knife and nothing else

Suddenly five men with yellow eyes who smelled like stale blood (vampires) were on him, pinning the large man to the wall while 6 more poured in to surround Raven and Luca, though they didn't touch the two, they stood on guard. One could see they had on black uniforms with the Moretti family sign woven delicately into the fabric. Raven smirked and stared intensely at each one of them, causing them to look on edge, they had heard enough of what she could do to guards of the palace...
