She followed the guards back to the throne room. She smiled a little to Lucifer to reassure him as best as she could. This was going to be a challenge to keep the king distracted long enough. She hoped she could.

She crosses her arms over her chest as she gazed at him. "I need some questions answered first." She glances around to the guards. "Do you even know what will happen if I decide to become a pureblood? I know what will happen if I decide to be killed so that is not what I need answered. I can't make a true decision if I don't know exactly what could happen."

"There are no side effects I'm keeping secret from you, if that's what you ask. You will be a vampire, exactly like me or your friend Lucifer. All the advantages and rare disadvantages that come with the title. I'm sure you know what being a vampire is like? The enhanced senses, reflexes, speed and whatnot that increase yet more upon feeding? The hunger for blood that causes humans to hate and fear us, and to believe us a plague? The.... Discomfort of daylight?"

"How can you be so sure that that is what will happen with me? I am still part angel and there is a chance that it could be different. From what I know of through the entire history of mine and your kind, no half breed like me has ever existed so how are you so sure that that is what will happen?" She asks curiously.

"This will be done via the Red Artifacts. It is in the Book - I could get it for you if you want, show you. As it is, the book states that even a pure angel will be turned completely and accurately into a vampire, as well as any other type of beast you can come up with."

She shakes her head a bit. "I see the truth in your eyes. You do not lie." She looks to her marks and her wings. "Then I will lose my wings. Before I finalize my decision, can I feel the wind beneath my wings one last time. I have not flown in hundreds of years for having to stay hidden. "

The king snarled. "Fine. I'll go retrieve the Book and the Chalice, then you can fly on the way to the Fountain. But don't stray too far away from us. That sound alright to you?"

She arches a brow at the king moving her wings a little. Wondering if she had stalled long enough but what also made her curious was how unease the king seemed. "Why in such a rush? What are you not telling me?"

She hesitates a little. She couldn't delay him any longer without it becoming suspicious. She truly hoped that Lucifer had gotten what he needed. She nods to the king. "Deal." She was prepared to fight though. She had already plotted out her escape route.

The king smiled. Finally, something had gone his way. He left, not even accompanied by a single guard.... The Artifacts' locations were very secret. He headed first for the Book.
The scream of rage and surprise could be heard all the way in the throne room.
Then, a blur, and the neck of every guard in the room was snapped within a few seconds. When the blur stopped, Lucifer became visible.
"Sounds like we need to go, quick. I have both Artifacts." He held out the Book and Chalice as proof.

She tenses as she hears the sound of rage but was shocked as the guards suddenly fell. At the sight of Lucifer she nods. "Let's go." Moving swiftly she took to the air and flew fast. It would be her quickest way of travel than running. She hadn't truly mastered vampire speed yet.

Lucifer, however, had mastered vampire speed better than any other, and so escaping the king proved simple. Granted, it did not take the king long to figure out what had happened: He first checked Angelian's empty room, then the Chalice's empty hiding place, then the corpse-filled throne room. But it was too late.
Lucifer reached a seemingly normal mountainside, then turned to Angelian.
"Are you ready?" he asked.

"It will work." He then spoke quickly and fluently in Latin for about a minute, and a cave opened up in the mountainside. "I've just bypassed the defenses. It recognizes me. But the entrance will close behind us. If anyone else tries to follow us in, they will find it difficult. Come." He entered the cave with a sense of purpose.

She hesitates again as she watched him a moment, then moved to follow him. Stepping quietly and quickly.

It was a long, uneventful walk through the empty cave. Apparently this was a lot of space for traps and tests when they weren't deactivated.
But at the end the passage spilled out into a large, round area of stone, mostly filled with a huge pit of red fluid. The Red Fountain.
Lucifer opened the Book. "So, we never cleared this up entirely: What do you want? To be a pureblood vampire? To return to the heavens as an angel? Perhaps even mortality? Lycanthropy? The choice is yours. Also, I'd like for you to continue to fight, even rule after a time, by my side. This can be managed no matter what, but my people are more likely to follow another vampire than an angel. Simultaneously, having an angel on my side would help cement our kinds' peace. Perhaps even build an alliance."

Her eyes widen at the sight of the fountain. The space was beautiful to her. At his words, she looks to him then back to the fountain. What did she really want?
She was quiet a moment then spoke. "Being a half breed, I'm already the strongest of both but those weaknesses...to be rid of them and there is no telling what I could learn to do...but that's not a choice is it?"
She shakes her head. "I thought I knew what I wanted but I really dont..."

Lucifer frowned and began to flip through the Book. "Removing the weaknesses of both vampire and angel.... Hmm.... Alright. It would be possible, but I would have to use both spells separately." He read through for a moment. "Seems simple enough. That is a good option. Are you certain this is what you want? Once it has been done, it is done. Though I see no disadvantages to it. Only countless advantages."

"Then so it shall be." He began to chant from the book in flawless Latin, at certain points making hand gestures or filling the Chalice. Toward the end, he approached her with the filled Chalice in one hand, the Book in the other.
"Do you, Angelian, wish the removal of all weaknesses, disadvantages and hindrances of both vampire and angel, understanding and recognizing the full extent and effects of this, for better or for worse?" He recited in English.

His words captivated her as she listened to him go through the ritual. As he approached her with the book and chalice, she felt a stillness come over her. This was it, no going back.
She nods to him. "Yes."

He closed the Book and extended the Chalice to her, looking her straight in the eyes with.... Pride? "Then drink."

Gently she accepted the chalice from him. This was it. Taking a drink, she let the cool liquid wash down her throat. It was soothing in a way. She hands the chalice back to him.
Nothing happened for a moment but then she felt warmth running through her. The angelic markings began to burn in change, now intertwining with them were vampiric language.
Her wings began to molt but only for in their place were white and red feathers that coated each layer.
She fell to her knees as the burning of the marks grew more intense. Then as if suddenly being released from a grip she fell forward on her hands, breathing heavy. Her eyes were a golden red now and her hair the color of the moon.
As she regains her breathing, she sits back a little and looks up at Lucifer, then to her marks and her wings. Her eyes widen. She got to keep her wings!
But are the weaknesses gone? She looks back to Lucifer and held her hand out to him.

She nods a bit, staring at where their hands were touching. There was no pain, no weakness from it. The marks on her skin were still. Her eyes widen and then she smiled happily to him. "There's no pain." She says. "I can touch others again..." It was so strange, she hadn't realized how much she had missed contact from others.

He smiled, true happiness showing on his face for one of the first times since they'd met.
His smile faded when an explosion sounded nearby.
"My brother. He's close. But we can take him. I've been meaning to finish my business with him. I'll start preparing a spell. If he arrives before I'm done, distract him. Try not to kill him, though.... I have a better idea. He'll still be useful."

She smiled happily to him then tenses as she hears the explosion. Her eyes flicker and she nods a bit.
"I'll do what I can." She nods and heads off, flying fast as she navigated the tunnel as she went to head off his brother.

Lucifer reopened the Book and began chanting quickly and quietly.
The king froze when he saw Angelian. "What did you do? What happened in there? Do you even know who that is!? He's not Lucifer Hastings; He's an imposter. And I have business with him. Let me through!"
