Red Sapphire

Her mind was focused on finding Hunter that she didn't hear the male until he was already at her back. She moved to try and avoid the knife but a cry of pain left her as the blade sank into her flesh.

She stumbles and hits the ground. Pain ran through her but she struggled back to her feet. She tried to call on her dragon form but with the blade in her back she struggled to shift.

[gravitron]

Now was the time. She was no more than an injured human, filled with blood. He could finally get some blood. He tried to sink his teeth into her neck, now that she was hurt.

[focusedheart]

With the knife in her back ,her dragon form wouldn't come for her. She couldn't shift. For the first time in years ,she felt panic.

As he went for her neck again, she threw her hands up and tried to fight him off. At the same time she tried to reach for the blade and get it pulled out.

[gravitron]

A scream came from somewhere nearby, that of a woman. Soon, Hunter had come and sprayed Matthew with gasoline, holding up a lighter and turning it on. He was scarred in many places, and there was a bite wound on his neck, but for the most part, he was okay. 
"I had no choice. It was her or me. Now, Matthew, back away from my friend or I light you up like the Fourth of July."
Matthew moved back slowly with a scowl.

Sapphire heard the scream and tenses. No, this wasn't how this should have gone. She was still struggling with Matthew when Hunter arrived and got the male to back off.

The back of her shirt was coated in blood now and the blade still in place. She moves to stand up, trembling slightly.

[gravitron]

"Alright. Sapphire, we both see this isn't going to work, don't we? He can't be king."
"King?" That got Matthew's attention. "Hold up, what do you mean, 'King?'"

[focusedheart]

Sapphire grimaced as she managed to finally pull the blade from her back. She moved to the wall and leaned against it. "As your father was king, that makes you the heir."

She sighs and shakes her head. "As much I do not like what I've seen so far...he is the only heir..."

[gravitron]

"Do you remember what I said before we came here? I'm a Hunter, and I serve the people. I will do my job. If he's not fit to be king -and he's not- he can't rule. And I don't think he can even live."

[focusedheart]

She sighs and shakes her head. "Tell me Matthew what would you do with this world if you were king?"

[gravitron]

'Hm,' thought Matthew to himself. 'If I can be king, I can right my father's wrongs and make this world better for vampires everywhere.'
"I'll put all my recourses into maintaining the peace so we don't get killed off by humans."

[focusedheart]

Sapphire regards the male carefully then shakes her head. "I may be in human form but I am still guardian and I'm not an idiot." She shakes her head and moves away from the wall. "The truth Matthew."

[gravitron]

"Why would I lie? We Supernaturals are greatly outnumbered. If this stupid equality and peace is the best way to keep us alive, then so be it."
"Oh, come on, Matthew," Hunter sighed. "Change your tone as soon as royalty is involved, eh? What about that rant earlier? With the rivers of blood? That was a good one."

[focusedheart]

Sapphire shakes her head. "Supernatural are thriving because of your father. Populations have grown. A lot of good has come from your father's decisions even if you don't want to see it."

She sighs a little, the wound to her back wasn't healing and she didn't trust the vampire enough to have Hunter put the light down to stop the bleeding. "Lying to either of us will get you no where."

[gravitron]

"I don't have to lie. I'm king, whether you like it or not. I'm leaving here and getting to my new home at the Palace. And first thing I do is put a bounty on the hunter who killed the king's mother. I'd suggest you stay out of my way, Sapphire, or you're next for assaulting and disobeying the King of the Supernaturals. Treason, both of you. Bye, then. I'd suggest you use your time, Hunter."
He ran, moving at vampiric speed.
"Shit," muttered Hunter. "I hate that vampire super speed thing. How am I supposed to catch up with him now?"

[focusedheart]

Sapphire winces as she moves away from the wall. "That's why I hadn't told him about him being king." She sighs " I've had a bounty on my head before...lets go catch him."

Moving carefully and to a place with more room. Soon her body took to her dragon form. She nods to Hunter. "Get on."

[gravitron]

Hunter looked uncomfortable, but he got on, anxious to find Matthew. "We have to stop him from reaching the Palace."

[focusedheart]

Her eyes flicker. "Hold on." She took to the sky once she got out of the building. A growl leaving her as she takes to the sky. Her body was weak but she could fly and the speed she used match a vampire.

Using her senses she tracked the male as best she could.

[gravitron]

"Oh, God." Hunter didn't look so well, which explained his discomfort getting on. "Sorry, it's just.... Well, I've never been in the air before. Planes were before my time. And riding a dragon is something different altogether."

[focusedheart]

His words giving her a reason to chuckle. "If you puke don't do it on me."

She kept going but did try to make it smoother for him. Her eyes flicker and she nods. "There he is."

[gravitron]

"Thank God. Let's get back to the earth. There's a reason people were born without wings."

[focusedheart]

She chuckles a little again but did as requested and landed smoothly to the ground.

[gravitron]

"Matthew Jacobs! Let's just talk about this. You're not going anywhere."

[focusedheart]

She looks to the male, her eyes flicker slightly. She was still weak but she held to her dragon form. Moving swiftly she tried to pin the male to the ground. "You will cause the death of many innocent lives!"

[gravitron]

"No. If I kill them, we have no more blood to drink. And my name -isn't- Jacobs."

[focusedheart]

She growls slightly." I was referring to the supernaturals that will die as well."

[gravitron]

"There will be as few Supernatural casualties as possible. Are we done here?"

[focusedheart]

She shakes her head. "No there won't be. You start another conflict with humans and many supernaturals will die ,along with humans."

"Think carefully. Are you only wanting this because you are angry? Are you truly thinking of the people with your actions or just yourself?

[gravitron]

"I am not angry. I'm doing what's best for my people, and if they refuse to see it, then I feel sorry for them. My father has blinded them and turned them against their true nature. Some of us drink blood. Some of us eat flesh. Some maul people. But all of us have a violent nature, one considered inhumane. And we shouldn't have to change because of the humans' thoughts. This is who we are. We must embrace it!"

[focusedheart]

She tilts her head. "So me eating you would be completely okay in your world." She shakes her head and glances to Hunter.

She needed to shift but didn't trust the male at all. "Have you ever lived in the colonies? Ever been among the people, not just humans but all of them together?"

[gravitron]

"Not without it ending very, very badly. For all of us. And, there's a difference between eating humans and your own king. Those unevolved savages can die for all I care. This is your last chance to leave without a bounty."
