She blinks slightly and stares at him. "You are serious." She shakes her head slightly, pacing a moment. Then nods slightly. "Fine but if we get caught, I will do everything I can to get free....I mean everything. "

"We won't. The hard part will be getting into the castle, but nobody knows about this hideout- 'Cept my brother of course, and he's dead, at least for now. But we can sneak past the guards if we're careful."

She regards him very carefully then nods slightly. "Then let's get this over with while there is still chaos there."

"They'll be burying my brother. It's a long ceremony; we have time." He made haste nonetheless, and when they reached the castle, it was unguarded. "Like I said. I know a lot about the Royal Burials; I've attended all three throughout history. There's a trapdoor under the throne. That's where we're headed."

As they reached the castle she was alert and cautious. "That just seems strange they would leave the place completely unguarded after someone kills their king..." she says as they head towards the throne room.

"All vampires are required to attend a royal funeral. It's ancient law. Besides, no king left to guard. The Palace isn't defenseless, though. They left some thralls. Even if we meet them, though, they're human. Easy prey. Here we are." They'd reached the throne and Lucifer stuck his hand underneath, searching for a button. When he'd found it, the throne moved back to reveal a medieval-style trapdoor in the floor.

She nods a bit at his words. "That's interesting. " She says to him then looks around carefully. He was right though, there really wasn't anyone. The place was very empty.
As he revealed what lay beneath the throne she arches a brow. "That is handy." She follows after him, tucking her wings in.

He closed the door above him and the throne slid back into place. "Let's hope my brother's death is more permanent than mine was." About an hour later, the nobles returned.

She nods and listens as the nobles begin to return. "Hopefully we shall find that out." She listens carefully.

"We must avenge our king!" snarled one noble. "The traitor must die!" "First things first," reasoned a second. "We need a king. We cannot proceed in anarchy. By tradition, the eldest vampire will rule. If Lucifer was telling the truth, that means him." "He was not!" raged the first. "He threatened and killed our king! Would you truly trust him!?" "We must determine the truth somehow. We have to follow the ancient laws."
"Hm." Lucifer nodded. "Of course. The two currently debating are Zerron, the hothead always looking for war and someone to fight, and Rexeth, the more reasonable. He's rational; he knows to follow the laws of old. He'll be duty-bound to search for proof to my claims. And his first priority is to crown a king. The vampires can't live in anarchy, and he knows it."

She looks to Lucifer as she listens to the words spoken. "The question is will the rational one beat out the hothead." She tilts her head a little then sits down quietly. "If the hothead wins, all out war will happen if the rational one wins, things will be calmer. But didn't you guys plan on a temporary king, a steward who took leadership until a king was crowned?"

"By all rights, the rational one has already won. They must follow ancient law, even the most hot-headed of them. And we need no steward or temporary king. The eldest living vampire is automatically crowned king, unless there is a prince, which there never has been. My announcement simply changed the equation. They have to check if I'm telling the truth, or else the true king is uncertain."

She rolls her eyes. "Politics were always something of an annoyance for me." She shrugs slightly then looks to him. "You should have just let me kill the king...would have made all of this much easier." She tilts her head a little.

"Quite the opposite, actually. I killed him anyway, but he and I were both able to tell the people who I am. Since my brother told them, they'll have to look into it. I guess politics can be complicated, but I was born into them. I've always been a good politician. Now, listen."
"-of our best men to follow up on all leads. We'll check when Lucifer was found, who turned him, everything." This was the rational one. Then, the hothead: "I'm telling you, it's a waste of time!" "Maybe it is. But this law we can not break. Our king may truly have been a traitor and a deceiver, though I hope with all my heart that he was not."

She crosses her arms as she sits there and arches a brow. " So how long do you think all this will take? Shall we sit here until they decide the truth?" She asks curiously.

"I'm not sure yet. But if I know Zerron, this is far from over." He pressed a button on the wall, the kind you wouldn't see if you didn't know it was there, and a part of the wall opposite them shifted to the side to reveal a screen. "Our underground passages are high-tech." The screen showed that Zerron was now alone in the throne room, rummaging through documents. "Knew it," muttered Lucifer. "Zerron will want me and any who support me dead. Especially since he's next in line to be king. I'm all that's standing in his way. And he'll have a lot of supporters. Everyone wants on the next king's good side. Wouldn't put it past him to start a civil war if it means keeping me off the throne. He was my brother's right hand, and the first one he turned. And it's no coincidence that all my old friends and legacies seem to be either dead or well away from the Palace. I have a lot to fix when I get my throne back."

Her eyes flicker slightly again and moves to her feet. "Then why not get rid of him. Would make things simple." She smirks a bit and licks her fangs slightly.

"Like I said, I was born into politics. This is where that comes in handy- Strategy. I already killed their king, perhaps even permanently. To kill his next in line.... By all rights, if they get proof that I'm being truthful, I'll be king. But if I kill more nobles, they'll be less likely to search much for proof. And even if- As king, I find that I strive best with the people's favor. Killing him would also help to usher civil war- It would enrage those who dislike me, and they'd try to kill my followers. There are more negatives than positives. But I'm having his every move recorded. If he tries anything, we'll have proof. And that will work tremendously in our favor."

She sighs and sits back down as she watches the noble rummage around. "So then we just sit here? I was never one to sit still you know..."

The ghost of a smile played over his face. "Neither was I. But then my brother had me killed, and I had no choice. To survive, I was forced to wait and watch, rise ever so slowly into the ranks I had once commanded. You get used to it easier than you think. Yes, we must watch patiently, for now. But perhaps you should test some of your new abilities.... The ones that won't bring the Palace down on our heads, that is. There's room down here."

She regards him quietly a moment then nods to him. "Training always kept me from getting bored " She follows his directions to the room and once there she settled into training.
She started first with just going through the movements of training. Each step silent but harsh. She moved with a deadly accuracy as if she was back in the war.
Slowly as she movement, she let her knew abilities break through. Her speed increased steadily ,her breathing calm.

"Angelian!" he called to her from beside the screen, which he kept his eyes on at all times. "This is bad. Zerron's leaving with my files. I don't know what his plans are, but they're probably not to tell Rexeth I'm being honest. I'm following him with the cameras, but it looks like he's leaving the castle, and I can't watch him outside the property. At least, not from here. Luckily, I'm good with disguises. I convinced my own brother that I'm someone else, in fact. I can disguise myself as a civilian and mingle with the crowds. I don't have the time or material for a proper change, but I can go unnoticed long enough. But I'll need you watching the main entrance on the camera, and keeping an eye out for anyone who enters. If Rexeth comes, I need you to press the button on the bottom of the screen. Okay?"

As soon as she heard him call her name, she stopped training and went to his side. His plan she was uncertain of. "You are sure that you can do this? I am less known here, I could possibly follow him with less trouble. "
She would do as he wanted but she was concerned about this plan.

"No, I should do it. You're in the spotlight; Anyone who's seen you will recognize you. I disguised myself from my own brother. I shouldn't stay out long, just in case, but there's enough in the Palace that I should be safe. And remember, don't leave this panic room. But if Rexeth enters, press the button I showed you. It will let him see everything we have."

"I don't think either of us is safe right now. But alive. And that's what matters." He left the panic room and used whatever was in the Palace to disguise himself- New clothes, hair dye, colored lenses.... By the time he finished, he was a completely different person.

She nods a bit as she watches him go then turns her attention to the cameras. His ability to disguise himself impressed her. It was indeed like looking at a different person.
She kept her eyes on everything though and made sure to pay attention as he had instructed.

A short while after Lucifer had gone, Rexeth walked through the main entrance. He was alone, and looked confused as he walked toward the throne room. "Zerron? I have news!" He stopped inside the throne room. "Zerron?"

As soon as she saw Rex on, she moved to the button. Once there, she pushed the button. Hoping that it would be enough and would convince the noble of the truth.

Once she pressed the button, a similar screen appeared in the throne room above and played for Rexeth what Zerron had done. "Oh, Zerron, what are you up to now?" He looked directly at the camera. "Lucifer and Angelian, thank you for showing me this. Zerron must be stopped lest he start a civil war. I believe I have found proof that you are being truthful. I need just a bit more to ensure you the throne."
