He still looked a bit suspicious, but Gabriel cut him off. "We have three days before the humans meet."
"Anything to be worried about?" Lucifer asked.
"The three of us can handle anything. We're a real power team."

Angelian kisses his cheek softly. "Do not worry. We are ready." She wanted to do nothing but reassure him. This was no easy thing they were about to do.

“No doubt,” he agreed. “If anyone can do it....”
“Don’t worry, I’ll get her back in one piece for the wedding,” Gabriel promised.
“Then who’ll get you back?” Amelia came in. “Angelian can handle herself, Gabe. I’m more worried about you- They’ll expect a vampire.”
“No one needs to worry about anything,” Lucifer cut in confidently. “You’re all strong. I don’t know anyone better suited to survive this.”

A smile touched her lips and she nods. "We got this." She nods again. They could handle it. They had to for the sake of not just themselves but for all of them. All of the people. Too many had died recently as it was. They couldn't lose anyone else. Nor would another war be of any good, even if it was just humans. They had proven time and time again to be more than a challenge.

"I just wish I could go with you," Lucifer said sadly. "I don't like not being there."
"I actually have a very important job you could help with," Gabriel told him. "See if you can find out what Jackson wanted with the Blood Artifacts."
Lucifer appeared confused. "Wait, what?"
"That was his price. The Chalice before the job, the Book after. Wouldn't tell me why, but I'm worried."
"Hang on, but he can't use them," argued Amelia. "He's not an Original like you four. What would he do with them? And does he even know where the Fountain is?"
"All that is what I need to know. What he knows, and why he wants it. Something's off about the whole deal."

Angelian tenses at those words. He wanted the artifacts. Then a bad idea came to mind. "You don't think he wanted them to keep us from them in case something happened do you?" It had been the first thought to enter her mind.

"Absolutely not!" Amelia looked upset at the suggestion. "Jax would never- You don't know him, Angelian, but I do, and he would never wish harm on us."
"Wait, you know him?" Lucifer asked.
Angelian's words troubled Gabriel, who didn't allow Amelia time to answer. "I'd like to think not. Jackson is a good man, and a long standing ally. I don't believe that that's his style, or that he would wish us any harm."

Angelian shakes her head a little. "I know you all know him. It was just a thought that came to mind. I only want us to be prepared. If I was wanting to protect a nation I loved so greatly as he himself said, I would put in a safe guard. He himself said not to ask him to go against the Americas. Most of my battles as an angel general were with demons. No I'm not calling him one, I'm just saying people will do a lot of this to protect what they love."

"I'm not saying you're wrong, Angelian," Gabriel told her carefully. Quite likely you aren't. I've learned not to trust so easily. I simply hope he wouldn't deceive us."
"No." Amelia looked between everyone's faces in shock, all seeming to agree with Gabriel. "No. I can't believe what I'm hearing. He's our ally. How can you accuse- How can you seriously believe-!" She looked around at everyone, all of them appearing shocked at the outbreak of the family peacemaker. "I- I need some air. Don't worry, I'll be back for the mission. Just- clear my head-" She ran out in a daze.
"Amelia?" called Lucifer. "Wait, Amelia!" He stood to follow, but Gabriel put his hand on his shoulder. "Gabe, what- what's going on with her?"
Gabriel looked him over. "You're clueless, aren't you, big bro? They have a thing."
"A- Wait, you mean-?"
"Of course, Luci. Two and two."

Sadness filled her. She didn't want to believe such a thing but they had to be ready for everything and anything. Moving to her feet. "Let me talk to her..."
She moves to follow after Amelia, hoping she could ease her worry. She didn't like seeing Amelia upset as she was. It actually hurt her. Was this what it was like to care for others?

"No, let her go," Raphael interrupted. "The two have a bond."
"But Amelia has never acted this way before," Michael reasoned. "It might be best to let her think first."

Seeing her, Angelian follows quickly. "Amelia!" She calls to her. Worry in her voice. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Amelia and she felt she had done that.

Angelian stops short and gazed at Amelia. Gently she tilts her head as she gazed at the other female. "I just don't want you to think I said what I did to hurt you or him. I truly hope I am way off in my thinking and that he just wants it to become stronger himself so he can protect you. He loves you greatly. That much was clear to see. I'm sorry I upset you. That's never something I wanted to do. I'll give you space now. I'm sorry Amelia." She says then turns to head back. Her heart aching.
