I don’t have any specific ideas, but I would really like to start a new fantasy or gifted genre roleplay, either group or 1v1. Would anyone like to join me, and does anyone have any ideas?

I'm always up for fantasy. I don't have any thoughts at the given moment as I am visiting my oldest sister and my toddler nephew is making distracting noises. DX
Are you thinking strictly medieval fantasy, or maybe with some tech, or even modern? I've always had an interest for a modern fantasy where magic is a normal part of every day life and "magical" races are not in hiding except maybe the dangerous ones like vampires who would naturally keep a low profile.
Instead of being adventure type characters there would be more of vigilantes, bounty hunters, mafia syndicates run by certain families, such as vampires or Dawrves, and goblin gangs, etc.
Another thought which is stealing from a story idea of my younger sister's(hey, I'm getting ideas despite the noise, heh.) where there is actually major magical pollution and cities are isolated from each other, sort of apocalyptic, or post-post-apocalyptic where things have been rebuilt to an extent but certain technologies like guns and automobiles are being excavated in certain places and people are trying to replicate and rebuild them. Out in the wastes the magical pollution is wildly dangerous and the only way to get from city to city is by trains and subways that are magically protected.

Yeah, I’m on a bit of a block too, but maybe somebody is searching for something important and/or powerful throughout the cities.
And/or maybe someone’s found a way to get between the cities without using the magically protected trains.

I had one thought based on your idea of a powerful item, and that would be like the movie "National Treasure" we'd have two groups trying to get some important item that is in a museum or a super rich and eccentric person's well guarded mansion/castle. Both groups want it for different reasons, whether it's black and white one for good one for evil, or more grey.
I was also thinking that the trains themselves could be used as a plot, like one breaks down/is attacked in the middle of the wastes, and what few characters have some special gas mask like contraptions can go out into the wastes to travel to the next city to get help, or fight off the creatures that lurk out there.
Of course, the trouble is getting enough people to join for the national treasure idea. I don't think there are more than four or so one-on-one roleplayers on the site, but if we could try messaging them maybe we could get some interested in joining in a group RP.

So for some reason thinking of trains and magical waste made me think of everything being a desert, and the setting having a western vibe. Train heists anyone?
