Rachel frowned as she walked away, quickly going into her own room to do some thinking. Would staying in the village be safe? She could control her own powers and hide them well, but Cassandra had a lot to learn.

Cassandra thought for a while, her mind circling around and around, what was real and what wasn't?? Now her faith was being tested in the worst of ways and she was terrified.
Finally, she decided there was only one logical solution, at least in her mind. And after sneaking out of her bedroom window and taking a quick walk, she was at the doors of the cathedral, where Priestess Bella stayed from sun up to sun down.

Bella said nothing as she turned quickly and led her to the back room, her long priestess robes flowing behind her like she was the most important person in the entire world right then. She shut the door behind them, instructing Cassandra to sit across from her. "Now. What is it you need guidance on?"

Bella gently took her chin in her hand, making her look up at her. "Cassandra. I know you to be a good and true follower of our Angel. She loves you and will always love you as long as you stay a good girl." She leaned in closely, whispering into her ear. "And the best thing you can do right now is give yourself and your troublesome aunt up."

Bella's hand moved to her jaw and she squeezed tightly, grinning. "Witches are sinners and must be punished. So why not willingly do so, to prove your love and loyalty to Angeles?"

She gasped at the pain of her jaw, trying to pull out of her grip. This wasn't right. This wasn't faith, it was insanity and bullying. "N-No!" She yelled, her tears streaming now

Bella growled and threw her to the ground, standing angrily. "Then I shall take you myself!" She grabbed her by the hair, dragging her into another, smaller room. "You will stay here until I have your aunt and I figure out what to do with the two of you!" She slammed the door shut, locking it from the outside.

Cass screamed, throwing herself at the door and hitting it with her fists, though she was too small to do any damage, and the hard wood hurt her hands

Less than an hour later, Rachel was forcefully thrown into the room with her niece, still dressed in her nightgown. Her hair was a mess and her face was red and sticky from crying as the door was shut just as quickly as it opened, leaving the two girls in the deafening silence.

She sniffled, "Why... Why didn't I know..." After all those years of going to church, and praying for something she believed in, but was completely against as a being... It felt like years wasted to make someone happy, that wasn't happy to begin with.
