She nodded happily, then ordered her food. After the food was handed to her, Freya looked to Akira again. "Where do you normally eat..?"

"Near Austin, Texas," she replied shyly. "My dad works in the tech industry, and he recently got transferred here..."

She nodded slowly. "My mother was born and raised in California. She's still Japanese, but she didn't leave the States until she graduated college. She's where I learned my English from."

"I've always liked helping take care of people. My grandmother passed away a couple years ago, and in her final months I was the one who was always taking care of her. She and I had always been really close, so when she passed I decided that being a nurse was the right path for me."
