"...society changes. It takes time, but it does," he replied softly. Lily was... fascinating. At first this was a game, but now... he was genuinely interested in getting to know her. Most girls dumbed themselves down around him, but she was different. He could hold a conversation with her. He... was outclassed by her. He could see himself building something meaningful with her as his partner and confidante, and that idea excited him. Her looks could be ignored, for the most part; she was pretty enough to be respectable, and besides, that wasn't where her gifts lay. Beauty would fade with age, but that mind...
