Mako nodded slowly as Sana made her way to the side of the bed, gently taking Shino's hand.

Shino gently took Mako's hand and squeezed it as reassuringly as she could. She was frightened, too, but tried not to show it. She had to be calm for him.
A week later, Shino woke early, for seemingly no reason. The babies weren't crying, there wasn't a foul smell anywhere, and she wasn't physically uncomfortable. She rolled over and watched Mako silently until he, too, woke up.

She leaned down to give the baby a little kiss, and at the same time sniffs him to make sure he isn't soiled. "Hmm.... are you hungry, little guy..?"

She patted his back gently and looked into the two other cribs to check on the girls. Hime was sleeping quite peacefully, but Hina was wide awake, just staring up at her mother and brother.
