Once they arrived back at home, she called for the council to be brought together in a few hours. She wanted to get all of their ideas on the subjects that Matthew's mother had brought up as well as some others.
She was still going through the different memories from the gods. She was in constant communication with the other guardians. So far all had reported normal activity and that trouble seemed to be less as well.
It was good news but yet it bothered her. Something made her uneasy but she wasn't very sure what it was yet. The energy around the earth had changed but it wasn't what was making her uneasy.
She looks to Shalidor after she had sent a messenger to inform the rest of the council about the meeting. "In the other time line. What has taken place?"

He wouldn't look her in the eyes. "With all due respect, I'm not sure the events are important. They don't really have anything to do with this timeline, and I don't really have any good news to give. Nothing that needs to be shared."

She doesn't look away from him. "No but it can reveal the pattern to which others behave. Thinking that does not change. Actions that always find a way. Just as Matthew always calls you by the nickname he came up with." She says.

"I don't think there is much this will help with," he repeated stubbornly. Then, after a moment, "Oh, fine. Let's see, noteworthy events- Well, after we left, the battle continued raging around the area. The soldiers were all killed, as were the hunters. Matthew killed Alistair. Then the mages stepped forward and killed him, leaving no members of the Royal Council, and none of its fighters. The daemons and the mages have always had an alliance, and while it's often been an uneasy one, it's always stood. As it did then. "Together, the two groups took over the White House and, consequently, the world. They had trouble agreeing on anything, but they made it work. And they were both happy to let chaos reign. Humanity soon became endangered, and vampires extinct. There are perhaps a couple thousand living non-mages left, there for the amusement and ruling of the daemons and the mages, plus the rare ones allowed to be trained by the mages in magic. This goes on still. And still the gods have not come. There's one constant- They ignored the Earth's problems."

She frowns at his words and she listened quietly. Then she nods to him. "Thank you for telling me." Even in such destruction the gods had not revealed themselves? The thought made her angry but she pushes it away and focused on something else. They ignored the earth's problems. That was never good to do. It was the job of all the guardians to keep the balance.
She nods again. "You will be an advisor to the council and myself." She starts walking to the meeting room before pausing. "Everyone has told me I should give you a second chance, I am trying to do that now." What she didn't say was that she hoped he would not make her regret it because if he did, no time line would be safe for him because she would wipe him from existence itself.

"I sense an or else," he muttered. It was hard to hide that stuff from him. "But of course. We're on the same side, after all, Red. Believe it or not, I still like you." He followed her to the meeting room, where the Council was already assembled. Alistair stood in a corner, sulking, presumably about seeing Matthew's mother. Hunter and Matthew together, talking quietly with each other. McIntyre sat at the table, waiting patiently. There was no telling what Lockhart had been doing, because as soon as the pair came within view, he jumped up and stared at them. "Seriously, Queen? You let him in?" All eyes turned to the entrance, with mixed feelings: McIntyre seemed extremely wary, but didn't speak; Matthew eyed him, but didn't seem to mind; Alistair smiled slightly to Shalidor to signal trust; Hunter stood abruptly, but seemed to rethink his decision a bit and sat back down hesitantly, but he didn't take his eyes off of Shalidor. "So, you say everyone wanted you to give me a second chance, huh?" Shalidor muttered. "There appear to be a couple people not jumping with joy."

She arches a brow. "Are you five? " she retorts. Then looks to everyone in the room. " There has been many changes in the past few days. I'm sorry to pull you from your current duties but I feel in necessary to put together some steady laws that we all agree with to deal with any digressions or issues that come up as well as hear anything from any of you that is a concern. I want everyone in this room on the same page and in agreement on what we do."

Lockhart remained standing, staring at Shalidor, and Matthew seemed unable to concentrate, still thinking about his mother. Hunter quietly said something to him, and he nodded, turning his eyes back to Sapphire and trying to pay attention. "Well, did you want to start with anything specific?" McIntyre was, of course, fully invested, though he kept Shalidor in the corner of his eye.

Sapphire could see the distraction in everyone. She didn't blame them and she felt for them. So much has happened recently. How could she not?
With a sigh leaving her lips she spoke. "Despite everything , the people are still divided on some things. We need to be what keeps them strong. I know much has changed recently and there are still changes to happen. The earth is struggling. All of you here have your own battles to fight, your own families." She looks to everyone in the room. "For right now, our focus needs to be on keeping the peace between humans and supernaturals as well as rebuilding this world from the distruction. Any transgressions that take place must be dealt with diligently and carefully. " She pauses a moment then decides to address the situation with Shalidor. " He is here because I've allowed it. Consider it a probation period for him. His knowledge and skills are useful but you are the council and I can see there are mixed opinions about my decision. Now is the time to address all of those."

"Well, you know better than anyone here what all he has done, in this timeline and the other," reasoned Lockhart. "In the other timeline, I'm the one who brought him back, yet here I am, saying you can't trust him. He killed me, I'm both timelines. I can't work with him." "Exactly- You brought him back," debated Alistair. "You started all this. Yet here you are, and we're trusting you. We're giving you a second chance, same as him. And yes, he killed you- But he also brought you back to life. If that's not a good omen, I don't know what is."

Sapphire nods a bit at the words spoken. She agreed with Alistair. "Indeed. A second chance is exactly what this is." She looks around the room. "Anyone else with concerns?"

McIntyre gave her a skeptical look. "Everyone should have concerns. That is what keeps us alive. But I trust you, and so concerned as I am, I will allow him here, though I suggest no one let their guard down. This is a bit of a concerning situation to begin with." "Thank you for your... Um, warm welcome." Shalidor went over and sat by him. "I feel so much safer now that I know you're on high alert."

Sapphire nods as she looks to him. "I respect your honesty and am glad for it. None of us should let our guards down either here with Shalidor or with anything else. The more alert we are the better chance we have of keeping trouble from happening."

"Let's move on," decided Hunter. "Wait, wait," Lockhart seemed reluctant to move on. "I told you, I can't work with him. He killed me." "He killed me and McIntyre, too, though," argued Hunter. "In another timeline!" "Where you freed him, causing all of this,"

She arches a brow at Lockhart. "I hate being blunt but you are the very cause for him being here. If you hadn't brought him back the gates of hell would probably still be sealed and the gods still alive. He has killed almost everyone in this room no matter what time line. He has also brought them all back and been trying to correct his wrongs."

"I didn't bring him back! The other me did! As a mage, I understand timelines." Shalidor coughed. "But not as well as me. True, that was not technically the same you, but it simply did what you would have done had those circumstances been there. You would have brought me back if it hadn't been for Sapphire acting differently. And since that was the original timeline, you were supposed to bring me back. With no interference, that's your choice. Face it: This is you." "Who are you to judge anyone?" "I'm not judging, Lockhart. I'm proving a point."

Sapphire shakes her head. "Enough. The both of you. What has happened has happened. I need everyone in this room to work together. Not against each other. We all care for the people in some way and they need to be our priority, not our grudges against one another. Can you all work together?"

"Undoubtedly," answered Shalidor. "I've already said-" began Lockhart, but scalding glances from everyone else changed his direction, "-Fine. I can try. But I won't promise more than that."

She nods. "Trying is better than not at all." She sighs and nods. "Now that is settled, how is everything else going? I plan on assisting the people in rebuilding were I can but if there are other areas i need to focus on please tell me. Also we need to address any situations between supernaturals and humans. Make sure that no tension grows right now."

"The world mostly seems at peace, as always," updated McIntyre. "There are of course some rebels here and there, but the vast majority just ignores them, and the soldiers and hunters accordingly terminate any who cause problems. We've also been getting a lot of recruits, and Hunter says he has too. There are a few areas with more of an excess of rebels, but soldiers and hunters are already there, locating and exterminating the problem points. Otherwise, Supernaturals and hunters remain united-" "Ahem," interrupted Matthew. "My mother. Don't underestimate her. If she wants to, she can divide them, and unite the rebels, and-" "We get it, you want your mother back," McIntyre interrupted back, "but she will have to be dealt with the same way as any other. We can't make exceptions for those close to us, or show favoritism. It causes problems. She pulls anything, she'll need to be terminated, too- She's a rebel, too." "So if it were someone you cared for-" "I'd have to do the same thing," he replied. "Which is why I'm general. It's a tough job, with tough decisions, not for the weak at heart or of will. This is unthinkable, yes, but it can't be helped. There are things that have to be done. Even if it destroys you."

It sat heavy on her what the general said but his point could not be ignored. "I hope that it does not come to that. There has been enough death as it is." She nods.

"It is always best to avoid death, but I'm a a realist, and I deal in war. I'll be having some people keep an eye on her- From a distance, of course, without her knowing. If she tries anything, we'll be the first to know." "You're going to stalk my mother?" "I'm going to protect the people. I'm going to do my job."

Sapphire shakes her head. "I do not wish anything to happen to your mother Matthew but the general is right. We must protect the people. That doesn't just mean your mother that includes ourselves if we ever became a threat. "

Sapphire shakes her head. "Alright enough. We need to move on from that. Everyone in this room has been given a second chance. It's time we start acting like we earned it."

"Exactly my point," agreed McIntyre. "By pointing out the mistakes of some in here, all I'm really pointing out is that everyone in this room should understand why Shalidor's here, and should accept it, and why everyone here should be able to work together. We are a Council. Think of all the good we've done together: We've united this world as one. We've stopped multiple dragons, even so soon after a world war. We've turned a rebel to a councilman, the prince. We've brought our king back from the dead. We've defeated the old hunters, and the daemons. By the gods, we've driven Satan himself back to Hell! Several of us have even died for this cause. If anyone can work as one, as a team, it is us. Earth's Council."
Meanwhile, Satan's messenger reached the daemons, and he told them exactly what Satan had said to him.

Sapphire nods in agreement. "Perfectly said." She smiles a little then looks to the others. She tilts her head a little as if hearing something then shakes off the feeling. She really wished there was a manuel to these powers. She nods to everyone. "Alright, so now that we have that settled. Let's focus on rebuilding."

Sapphire looks to the others. "So far the ranks are being filled for both of you, I've been helping with construction as much as I can. Are there any other areas we need to focus on?"

"Might I suggest laws?" Alistair looked to her. "This is obviously one of the most important steps, but I've always been a bit.... Well, busy. I've only been able to set up the basic ones- You know, murder, theft, stuff like that. The specifics need to be set."
