"Don't Lie to Me" is a game I created on a different forum. It received a lot of attention.
The guidelines are as follows:
One member lists 4 short phrases about themselves.
Any member can reply indicating which is a lie.
If that member identifies which is the lie they win.
If that member does not identify the correct lie then the game is open for any other member to attempt to identify the lie.
The same member can't go twice in a row until 48 hours after their last choice.
This process continues until there is only one phrase left which the member who posted the 4 phrases wins, since there are no other choices.
The following is an example:
1) I like dogs. 2) I enjoy playing role playing games. 3) Brussel sprouts are my favorite vegetable. 4) My favorite actor is Denzel Washington.
[any member would start by stating what they think is a lie]
Is anyone interested in starting this by stating 4 short phrases about themselves?

1) I was almost killed with a pick ax as a kid.
2) Green is my favorite color
3) My Jeep is blue
4) Cats are better than dogs in my opinion.

Congratulations gravitron. You must have avoided making it rocket science. I definitely like dogs better and my avvie is a dog. Lol. So now you get to post 3 truths about yourself and 1 lie.
(Actually a little surprised that everyone so far agreed I was nearly killed with a pick ax as a kid. What's up with that!)

I decided that for the pick ax, that was just begging to be a lie. If it was, it would probably have been more believable. If that makes any sense. Anyway:
1. My birthday is on Friday.
2. I live in Europe.
3. I have an older brother.
4. I'm a fan of most fast-food restaurants.

You forget I have a good memory. You've mentioned your brother before, I can tell by the hours you keep that you're approximately in the location of Europe, and the part about fast food is very believable. Many young people are fans of fast food. So the most logical lie was going to be your birthday. Who hasn't lied about their birthday at your age? "But it's my birthday!" Lol. At least that's how I analyzed it.
I nominate Chase to post something. We might have a harder time guessing his lie since he's new. (Can I do that instead of posting about myself again?)

Two questions about economics is how I gauged your question. If you always owned Toyota (expensive) then chances are you have the money to go on a cruise. In the event that you've never been on a cruise than its not likely that you would have the money to buy Toyota. (Why wouldn't you go on a cruise if you had money?) So I figured that those were contradictory statements. Just because I was on fire for my first two guesses my logic will fail next time. Lol.

Others should get smart about your approach and/or know things about you and try to throw you off by posting something that appears to be a lie, but really isn't.

Wrong. I do live in a small city. So one more attempt from someone who has not posted today. There is a 48 hour waiting rule for those who have attempted today. If next response is wrong, then Silence wins and can designate anyone that is interested in posting 4 statements or Silence can post again. |
