Durpy sounding topic name is durpy. DX
Anywho, not entirely sure if I will be using my kitsune fella or not, have to hammer out some details.
Now there must be a goal for the agents, perhaps protection of an important person or a search to obtain magical items of great power. Maybe we can do something along the lines of warehouse 13 or the Librarians, a small group of Secret agents fighting off evil in general and protecting the world.
Do we want to play as characters on the same side, opposing sides, their own? Just mercenary agents or assassins going where the money leads them?

The Librarian setting would be great. Protecting a nerdy librarian that is searching for relics with power would be cool. Would be easier if we all played on the same side. Could have a bit of humor in that as well.

I be more for working on the same side and bring mercenary agents. I haven't seen librarian or any show like that but I'm open to it.

I only just discovered "The Librarians" myself, there was a marathon of it the other day. Didn't see if from the beginning though so I don't know a whole lot but I got the gist of it.
Perhaps starting out we should be on the same side, and introduce enemies as we go along. I haven't played a bad guy in a while, might be fun if I get inspired and make a really nasty fellow along the way.
What kind of artifacts should we be after? Should we base them on fairy tales and actual people Like Edgar Allan Poe's pen, or Sleeping Beauty's spinning wheel? Any thoughts on what the home base should be like, or how much like our world the world should be? Do we want alternate dimension Earth with America and all that, or a made up world?

I think we should be looking for a few things. Like we get the mission to look for Sleeping Beauty's spinning wheel but then that leads us to Poe's pen witch leads to a crystal skull and so on. As we go it gets harder to find what we need but we have to keep going because of something at the end. Also I think Earth is good enough but not a lot a 'normal' transpiration can be used..

I see, perhaps these items are connected and when they are all brought together their combined magic will do something incredibly bad or incredibly good.
Squire, did you mean "transportation?"(I just tried to spell it and totally misspelled it too, ha. ) Perhaps some sort of magical or technological meltdown happened and all the cars, trains, etc are out of commission? Maybe the magical items have something to do with it... lets see... What item night do that?
Ah, thorns. The Spinning wheel has been moved which created thorns that have choked up the roads and everything so it's impossible to go by land. Or... maybe something Wonderlandish, roads keep looping back on themselves and you keep coming back to the same place. Guess that's more Looking glass like than wonderlandish.

Oh just have accidental time travel in Doctor Who's phone booth by accident. Then end up finding all sorts of other relics along the way through time to get back to where you started.

I would go with more technological meltdown happened and all the cars, trains, etc are out of commission. Like solar flares bring down transportation kind of thing. (look its right now ) As far as finding things I do like that everything has to come with for the whole trip and by the end they would have a lot of stuff to try and fighter out whats its for or why they need it.

Sorry for lack of replies, been at a con all weekend and homework is piled up. I need to reread all this and see if I can come up with something at some point in time, unless either of you feel you can start the roleplay. I'm also sick with a cold so creative juices are not flowing right now.

I'm hitting a wall with this, what artifact should they be seeking first, do you think? I'm thinking of starting with their orders to go out and get a certain artifact, perhaps one that has somehow activated and is causing mayhem.
Or perhaps a rival group seeking power has an artifact and our group sets out to confront them and win the artifact back. I just can't seem to begin things in a satisfactory manner.

Thanks, I just need some ideas of what artifact is first causing the most trouble, what it is and what it's doing.
This is what I got so far:
Quin was awakened at 5 in the morning when her recharge station discharged her usb plug abruptly. Something had been coming, a virus or...
Alarms went off and those few on the end of their night shift groggily leaped into action. All over the worldmap pulses were pinging on the radar. Many of the areas that could be pinpointed were known for having magical artifacts within them or strongly technological facilities. Something was disturbing them on a world wide basis.
It became apparent that transportation was the target when calls started coming in from those trying to come in for the day shift. Portals failed, flying machines, cars, everything it seemed except for living creatures. Within a couple hours those who had a trained creature were taking along those they could to the office.
People outside a forty mile radius had to make their own way or just sit tight at home.
Questions flew around the office. Theories were raised, dates looked in to. A message came in from the main branch that the artifacts in storage were also reacting to this phenomenon. And they were having bad affects on anyone who got close to them.
“Think it could be the Silver Hand, making a come back?” was another question circulating. The Silver Hand were a rival group to the Office. They collected magic and researched technological advances only so far as they could benefit them personally. Whereas the Office rarely brought out their artifacts for use unless absolutely necessary, the Silver Hand were power hungry, and looking to be the top dogs in the world.
They had met with a crushing defeat when things came to a head three years back and nothing had been heard from them since.
Orders came in
~*~
I'm stuck after that as to what the orders should be. I feel also I'm not giving enough info in case anyone else wants to join once the RP is up, or do we want to keep it just us? The rival agency could probably use a better name but I was stuck.
If you can't think of anything just send me some fun or inspiring songs and maybe something will click.

I like it so far and for now I would think keeping it a small group is the best. As far as finding the fist thing I would say its not very well known. Like the Office and Sliver hand knows of his piece (say a map piece) but no one really knows where it is or what it looks like since it hasn't been seen since the big head to head baddie 3 years back. The real kicker is that its not the first thing that will be found as we look for his piece we find other things that lead them to it.
