Mr. Alden nodded, standing and looking to Chris. "Cole on, son. Let's go sit in the study."

Chris nodded as well, looking somewhat out of it, but got up and followed his father to the study. Once they had gone, Mrs. Alden stood and looked to Lily with a smile. "Would you care to join me in the parlor, dear?"

Mrs. Alden smiled gently to her. "I can tell... and honestly, it relieves me. You aren't one of those vapid, only-after-money types. Don't worry about Olivia too much, alright..? She's been going through a tough time, and while she doesn't want to admit it, I know that you and she will eventually end up being friends."

She nodded, looking away and thinking for a moment. She had wanted to ask a question all along but knew she couldn't ask it to Chris. Maybe his mother would be the better option? "How many women has Chris been with?"

Mrs. Alden blinked, then shook her head. "I honestly don't know... but he's only brought maybe two or three here to meet us before you. And apparently they had been going out for months before we even knew about them...."
