She nodded nervously and led him back to her family's farm, unsure of what was going on.

She nodded, then ran out to the fields to find her father. She would return to the house a few minutes later with her father, a large, gruff man with a deep tan and wrinkles at the corners of his eyes. Though he looked somewhat rattled when he saw such a polished and fancy-looking young man at his table, he knelt quickly across from Mako while Shino went to make tea.
"My Shino said that you were here to speak with me, my lord. What can I do for you?" he asked in a deep voice.

He shook his head, somewhat stunned. He had thought he was asking for an outrageous sum for Shino's dowry, and this man had just agreed to it outright.
"No, nothing else... when would you like the wedding to be? Perhaps you'd prefer a large ceremony befitting of your status, but we are unfortunately unable to provide something like that..."
