She nodded happily as the carriage went on the sorry trip to the festival, the ladies chatted pleasantly with her and each other on the way

When the carriage got to the festival, it was obvious it was still early as the streets weren't very busy yet, the driver jumped down and opened the door, offering his hand to the women to help them down

Oeyo took his hand gently, stepping out of the carriage and into the cold streets. She looked around at all of the beautiful decorations, smiling happily.

Some people were going between the booths as they are being set up, eager to start the day as soon as they could, once everyone was out of the carriage, the Empress looked to all of her Ladies with a smile, "Go, everyone have a fun day" She told them before the other two bowed and took off down the street together, giggling

The Empress hung back and watched everything, she had been to these festivals more times than one could count. Eventually the street started to fill with more people as the booths were all set up. From a distance she would see Fukumi grinning at the performances and batting her lashes as any man that spoke to her, she waved at Oeyo when their gazes met from across the street and went to her "are you enjoying the festival?"

(oop I guess I wasn't totally clear on who it was lol)
She smiled "good, I had hoped you would enjoy it," she said and stayed with her for some time before a man bowed low before her,
"Empress Fujiwara, how nice to see you," he said with an attractive smile,
"Ichiro," the empress addresses him affectionately, "how have you been?" After his short answer she tells Oeyo, "this is my nephew"
"Fujiwara Ichiro," he tells her, holding his hand out to take hers with a barely contained grin

She quickly bowed back, bumping her head against his with a grunt. "Oh, I'm sorry..."

The empress covered her mouth with her hand to try and stifle a laugh as Ichiro's mouth turned up farther "no worries, madam, my aunt tells me I have a thick skull," which causes the empress to strain more to look professional.
"I will leave you two," Empress Fujiwara says with a pointed look to her nephew before going to speak with other nobles.
"Have you been to this festival before?" He asks politely, though his childish smile is still apparent

"I come to them all," he seems to grin somehow while maintaining a professional face, as though he has a secret joke, "hopefully you find this one entertaining, I have quite recently decided it is my favorite"
