"Is no problem, Miss Tomoya," Cyril replied, "I am certain you have your own unique skill sat will manifest as time goes by. You will find sa confidence if you... no, nobody can-- Hmm." Cyril had wanted to say something very encouraging, something he had heard before, he thought, but now he couldn't remember how the saying went.
He pushed at the bridge of his nose, feeling a phantom touch of something that was suppose to go there.
"Huh..." he said at last, defeated in his remembering, "Well, I cannot remember what someone once said to se affect of gaining confidence in oneself, but my feeling about people who display a nastiness and snide manner are in fact even less confident in demselves than you."

Madeline looked up from her nails, "Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin, as self-neglecting. I do believe that could be a quote for you." She stretched a quick smile, fleeting, cloying, "Are you all becoming best friends? Sharing your little insecurities? Pardon me that I'm not ready to trust you all so fully."
She sniffed, posture the type of straight-backed ballerina perfection that came only as the product of strict old-money upbringing, "And furthermore, I really don't believe that we should be concentrating on our confidence or our crippling self-hatred or what have you when we are literally in a world we know nothing about. We don't have memories, if you all are calling this a game then I think we should beat it or break it."
God, she was going to toss herself into the nearest tavern and drink herself into a stupor, but something told her the sense memories of candy-harsh alcohol wouldn't coincide with whatever was being served here. She was considered nasty, oh no, she was going to carry them on her shoulders and she knew it. And it was familiar, the too-soon responsibility, and she couldn't imagine why.

"well I'm sorry but we were told we won't survive on our own so we might as well get to know each others strengths and weaknesses. I get you don't trust easy, but you're gonna have to learn how in this world." Yumi said with her cheeks burning red. She was shaking and almost crying with frustration at this girls attitude toward the group and toward anyone trying to handle their situation in a positive manor.

"Oh yes," Said Madeline, ice-cold, "Because knowing you don't like nasty people will help us so dearly when we're fighting dragons. We won't survive on our own and that's my point, actually. I don't feel like dying because we're all too busy holding hands and singing songs to wonder how to get out of this place."
She fell into the cool, pin-straight persona that was so comfortable in arguments. She didn't need to be nice, she didn't need to be optimistic, she was a fighter and sensible, and that startled her. The funny thing about losing her memory, she knew she found this steel core inside of her but she couldn't remember what necessitated it. Only flashes in her mind of bright lipstick and crystal cut glasses of wine and this frigid hard center about to get all of them out of this mess.
If she had to knock them all out to do it, she was going to escape this world and take them along with her. Or, Plan B, conquer it and hand it to them on a silver platter.
"Are you crying?" She said, shrill, "Listen, you can go cry on Nice Guy over there, and I'm going to knock some goblins out, get us free from here, and find something to shave my legs with. They're like, two feet tall, right? I have a staff I can just-" She mimed a croquet gesture, another word she didn't know, a swing-and-hit with one leg popping up.

Some people's kids.
Should he make some snappy comeback? It was tempting. But not likely to work. Being nasty right back and using her method would not help any.
Patting Yumi on the shoulder he looked at her, "See, very low self esteem, so must cover for it by bringing other down. Makes one feel powerful when they are not. And here we are."
Alright so he was being a little nasty in his bluntness. Pausing at the building they had been directed to he stopped and looked it up and down.

She blinked, not really accustomed to people being so utterly wrong about her motives. Selfish? Yes. Bitchy? Yes. Self-hating? She, herself, Madeline, was the only constant thing in her life and the only thing that couldn't go wrong.
She didn't need them, she reminded herself. She was competent, she was raw but not rotten, she was fucking smarter than everyone else there. Let them concentrate on how nasty her words sounded, oh no, when she was bringing up genuine important points.
If she was the only one who cared to concentrate on how to escape, the only one who cared how to get somewhere, so be it. But wasn't the big lug dense? Had anyone heard her when she brought up their predicament, how they were distracting themselves from the ultimate goal? But, no, let her be the mean one, god.
She resigned herself back to a role she at least knew how to play, bit back a sneer and a comment on the infrastructure of the place, and batted her big lashes. Polished porcelain-doll shine, she smiled all vacant and glassy, "Mm. Figured me out. I'm glad we have you on the team, this is place is so unfamiliar I couldn't have found the way all by myself, I think."

Greed shook his head at the scene that played out between the party members "Like dealing with a bunch of kids..." he murmured before sighing and stoping at the building he paused for a moment to think 'Do I have a kid?...or kids?....' he closed his eyes and took a deep breath to try and clear the thought

Xio rubbed at her temples, feeling an intense headache coming on. Sheesh, if they kept up like this, they were all gonna die. Like, horribly and likely hilariously so.
Looking up at the sky, she made several rude faces, then grinned, feeling better. Time to steamroll her way into this soap opera. She allowed herself a moment of frustration at knowing those words but not having a clue what they meant before proceeding.
"We should probably plan a budget first. Honestly, if we must get a house it should probably be the cheapest for now, and we'll have to skip buying food and learn to hunt and forage. That's a thing in this trippy world down the rabbit hole, right?"

Ooc: sorry if I complained, I just kinda panicked lol. By the way, what do we have right now besides money? Clothes, weapons, supplies, anything? We'd better not be running around naked, 'cuz I'd change this interaction completely if we were.

(Lol no, we have basic clothing, and simple beginners weapons. Money wise we are pretty strapped. Like enough to get a place to live. Sorry I should've specified more.

Yumi nodded in agreement with xio, "that's all I'm suggesting, that we work together and get somewhere for all of us to stay." Yumi chimmed not feeling so alone on the idea.

OOc: Sorry, having a mental block.
Ic:
Well, at least two other people were on board with working together. They could do this, they just needed a place and food of some sort and then things would look better. Maybe.
"Indeed," Cyril commented, "I'm going to go inside here," he pointed a thumb up at the sign that read, "We sell homes","And find out what's what. I would appreciate everyone's input once we know how much a house will cost and what facilities we can manage to get along with it."

She hummed, already scanning the building, "I think there's still an argument to be made for bargaining for a lower price. And, I think we should just like, shack up in the cheapest house we can find, bare necessities, etcetera. The first few weeks we should be focusing on buying weapons or spellbooks or what have you to save up for an actually nice house. Right now our objective is just to increase our cash per capita and put all our shit into savings. After we establish an actual stable amount of money we can start throwing it around, I don't want to waste the vast majority of our wealth on an okay house or whatever when we could get a better one in the semi-near future and then still have the same amount left over. It's the difference between wanting comfort now or later, and frankly, we're in a situation where it's time to nut up."
She put her hands on her hips, demured, "Don't listen to me, though. And does anyone know if that girl mentioned rich people, by the way? Or like, rich single people? Someone has got to take one for the team if we find some old guy with bank."
