General Rules

{1} Extremely important for newbies: You must post on a board (News and Updates topic, Fun Stuff topic, or Role Play topic) the same day you create your account!
_{Note: Voting on a poll, posting in the chat box or guestbook, posting in the 'Games' board, or sending me a PM does not count.}

{2} You must post at least once a month. Otherwise, your account will be deleted. If you leave an excuse on the
Bye-Bye! board, explaining why you won't be here for a particular period of time, your account won't be deleted.
_{Note: Your post on the bye-bye board is only valid for the amount of time you say you'll be gone. If you stay away longer and don't post in a month, your account may be deleted. Always keep us up to date if there are changes in the time you'll be away.}
_{Note: You must post on the site once a month, not simply come online.}

{3} Please do not join with more than one account. This gives unfair voting abilities and much more. You are allowed to have an unlimited amount of characters with your account, so there is no reason to have a second account.
I do check IP adresses when new members join, so I know if you have two accounts.

{4} Do not be rude to anyone on the site. If you are, you will get posts deleted or edited, suspension, or worse.
_{Note: This does NOT apply while you are in-character (role playing). Your characters are completely different than you are on the site.}

{5} Age, gender, religious, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and racial discrimination is forbidden on this site.

{6} Do not cyber with anyone on this site, in any way.

{7} Offensive, racial, or profane usernames are forbidden. Accounts with usernames containing curse words will be deleted.

{8} The Drawing Box rules must be followed just as strictly as any other set of rules.

{9} Your birthday appears automatically on the calendar when you join, therefore there is no need to post an announcement on the calendar when it is your (or someone else's) birthday. All entries related to birthdays (except for TRPS's own) will be deleted and you may get a warning.
Also not allowed on the calendar: personal announcements like 'Brother's getting married' or 'Parents' 25th anniversary'; random holidays like 'National Cheese Day' or 'Play With Your Pet Day'.
Entries allowed on the calendar: national and international holidays, like Christmas, Easter, and Hanukkah.

{10} If you want a role play or thread removed, please contact Brenda (me). Do not ever delete a thread. Deleting your posts, however, is allowed.

Role Playing Rules

{1} No godmoding/power playing at all. In other words, only play and control your own characters - no one else's. If someone else controls your character, please notify me by PM.

{2} You can have homosexual characters in regular role plays, but no slash role plays (which are based solely on gay characters) are allowed.

{3} You must use some form of 'OOC' (Out Of Character) in the role play boards if you're not role playing. If you're posting in the 'Fun Stuff' or 'News and Notes' boards, you don't have to use OOC - just post regularly.

{4} Do not steal, copy, or take anyone else's character in any way. Be unique and think for yourself.

{5} Drugs, drug users, drug dealers and dealing, etc., are forbidden. Characters smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol is allowed.

{6} Some romance is allowed. Remember, there are people of all ages on TRPS. Try to keep it appropriate for all. If you have any questions about what is appropriate and what is not, please PM Brenda (me). You will not get in trouble for asking me if something is appropriate, but you might if you just go ahead and post it.

{7} Please state that you are leaving if you decide that you don't want to be in a role play any longer.

{8} If you have an idea of an RP to make, go ahead and make it (you don't need permission). If you are not sure which topic it goes in, are not sure it will be allowed on TRPS, or if you want to know what others think of your idea, post it on the Role Play Topic Ideas board.

Literacy and Posting Rules

{1} You must use punctuation, capitalization, and proper grammar both in character and out.

{2} Please don't use too much chatspeak. I'll allow some, but if I feel that you're using too much of it, I'll tell you so.

{3} Please don't spam. Just posting random things, in both OOC and role play boards, is against the rules.

{4} Do not post more than twice in a row. If you want to add something to your previous post, please edit it by clicking the 'modify' button at the top-right corner of your post.

{4} Profanity is allowed in posts on TRPS, but don't take it to the extremes, like cursing in every post. If I think you're over-doing it, I'll have a chat with you over PM and you might get a warning.
Note: Some words are not allowed. If a word appears as '-beep-' in your post, that means it's not allowed. You will not get in trouble for censored words.

{5} Images or links to pornographic/nude material is strictly forbidden. This includes barely-dressed people/cartoons. Avatars are included in this. Excessive gore (in images) is also forbidden. If you are not sure an image is allowed, either PM me with it or don't use it at all.

{6} All posts in character must be in third person. Please do not write in first person. Thank you!
Allowed: She ran to her house.
Not allowed: I ran to my house.

Each member has a warning level, and it's a little bar with a red inside. If it's not showing, you have no warnings. If it is showing, you have gotten a warning. If you break the rules, you will get a warning. The amount of red in your warning bar shows how any warnings you've had. The amount of 'warning' I give you varies on the offense. When your warning bar is full, you will be banned from TRPS.
Warnings will go away a month after you get them. However, if you repeat the offense, it'll go up higher.

If you see something in a post that's against the rules, there's a button at the bottom right corner of every post saying 'Report to Admin.' Click that and it'll allow you to send a PM to me, 'admin'. Again, please notify me if you see something in appropriate or against the rules.

If you have any questions about the rules (or anything else for that matter), PM 'admin' (me) or create a thread on the Help! board.
